A Santiago Artisan Market Find

FullSizeRender (1)

Location: Santiago, Chile; Material: Lapis Lazuli & Silver

On my class trip to Chile in May/June 2014, we spent most of our time in the Atacama Desert; however, at the end of our trip, we got to see the country’s biggest city of Santiago.  In Santiago, we had the chance to walk around and go to a small artisan market right in the center of the city.  I found this jewelry stall where I purchased a number of different pieces.  The ring was one of them.  I picked out lapis lazuli because Chile is one of the biggest producers of it in the world.  Many countries all over the world sell this blue, semi-precious stone harvested from Chile.  I love the ring so much, especially the thicker band, which makes it a lot more different than the rest of my rings.
