While in Granada, Spain for my freshman year preview trip (as I mentioned before, a week-long trip abroad to give freshman a “preview” of studying abroad) at Arcadia University (in 2011), my group and I did a lot of walking and sightseeing in the Albaicin. The Albaicin is a very historical part of the city where the Muslims of Granada (then called the “Moors”) lived at a time when people from all three of the Abrahamic religions (Christianity, Islam, Judaism) resided in the city. In the Albaicin, we saw a number of beautiful views of the whole city, stopped into markets, and even were able to partially go into one of the houses to see how the Muslims hid to escape persecution at one time. Anyway, I found this ring in one of the markets and bought it! It is quite big, so I do not wear it a lot, but I love it nonetheless.
